To secure your appointment, full payment is required at the time of booking. Payment can be made via credit or debit card.
A referral is not required unless you intend to claim Medicare rebates.
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) from your GP, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $98.95 per session with a registered psychologist.
Receipts for claiming rebates are provided if eligible. For more info about rebates, see below.
Check with your provider for coverage eligibility.
Navigating rebates can feel overwhelming, but we’re here to make it simple.
Medicare Rebates
You’ll need a referral and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP.
Medicare covers up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Therapy often requires more than 10 sessions, so we recommend continuing as a private-paying client to complete your process.
We can claim your Medicare rebate online during your appointment. Ensure your bank details are registered with Medicare for direct deposit.
Private Health Insurance
Check with your provider to confirm eligibility and coverage.
After your session, we’ll provide an invoice for you to claim your rebate directly.
Important: You can only use one type of rebate per session—either Medicare or private health insurance, but not both. If you’ve used all your Medicare-rebated sessions, you can switch to private health insurance if eligible.
If you have questions or feel unsure about rebates or payment options, we’re here to guide you. Making therapy accessible and manageable is our priority. Contact us to discuss the best option for you.
At Better Days Psychology, we understand that life can be unpredictable. To ensure we can provide the best care for all our clients, we kindly ask for a minimum of 48 business hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Business hours exclude weekends and public holidays. This allows us to offer your reserved time to another client in need.
We value your time and ours. If an appointment cannot be filled due to late notice, the following fees apply:
| Notice Time | Fee |
|---|---|
| More than 48 business hours | No charge |
| Less than 48 business hours | Full session fee |
| No-shows or same-day reschedules | Full session fee |
Cancellations within 48 hours of the session, or for programs that have already started, are non-refundable.
We appreciate your understanding, as these fees help us maintain availability for all clients.
When you book an appointment, that time is dedicated solely to you. Late cancellations or no-shows make it difficult to offer the time to someone else who may need support. Thank you for helping us provide consistent care to all our clients.
In rare cases, we may need to reschedule your appointment due to staff illness or unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, we will work closely with you to find a suitable alternative time. Please note that compensation is not provided for rescheduled appointments.
As a courtesy, we may send reminders up to three days before your appointment. However, technical issues or staff shortages may occasionally prevent this. Please remember that attending your appointment is your responsibility, and cancellation fees will still apply if a reminder is not received.
We are here to support you every step of the way on your recovery journey. If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Your well-being is our priority.
